I have struggled with quitting acomplia for the past several weeks because it doesn't seem to work any more and i have regained 5 lbs. it was glorious while it lasted.
Anyone looking into the tesofensine?

apparently Acomplia has just been taken off the market in Europe. This is what I saw in a recent news report. Does anyone else have any more info? Here is part of the report:

"Safety chiefs have suspended the use of a weight loss drug over concerns that it may be linked to suicide and sudden death.

Officials said the risk of side effects from the drug, Acomplia, outweighed its benefits.

Almost 100,000 Britons have used the drug since its launch two years ago, when it was hailed as a 2 a day wonder pill.

Health warning: Drug chiefs say doctors must stop prescribing Acomplia now

But seven deaths, including a suicide, have been associated with the anti-obesity treatment, which also doubles the risk of psychiatric disorders.

Around 2,500 adverse reactions have been reported by British patients since it
became available to private buyers two years ago. U.S. authorities refused to approve the drug amid mounting scientific evidence of the suicide dangers.

But just four months ago Acomplia was cleared to be used as a 'last-chance' solution on the NHS by the Government's rationing body, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence.

But warnings on packets about the higher risk of depression, anxiety and other 'serious' side effects were strengthened after the European Medicines Agency said Acomplia should not be taken by patients with major depression or on antidepressants.

Now the EMA has decided to suspend the medicines licence for Acomplia because the 'benefits no longer outweigh its risks'."

Indian generics

Does anyone have any info on the two Indian generics, Rimont and Slimona? I bought Riomont and it appears to be real. But I have no idea about Slimona, which sells for much less.

Anyone using Riomont?

A friend of mine has family in India and he got us each a 100 day supply of Riomont. This is a generic of Rimonabant made in India.

Does anyone have any information about this brand in particular?

I plan on starting it tomorrow. I am currently about 6' 2" and 315 pounds. I was able to lose about 50 pounds on 2 occasions in the last 10 years in just a few months but I gained it right back. I have tried a few times to diet and exercise in the last couple years but didn't stick with it long enough to lose more than a couple pounds.

I am hoping this will help me to stick with the diet which in turn will help me to stay motivated with exercising.

cant yet figure out best time of day to take pill.
If i take it 7am then by 6pm Im back to my old
self.
Ive tried 1 in afternoon...works better
sometimes though it seems intermitently
goes and comes.
today I wanted to eat alot, but usually ok.
has anyone had this come and go feeling of
their old wanting more feeling even though
its not hunger.
I didnt drink my usual qt of water...maybe
it didnt disentergrate enough?
I hope this doesnt happen often....its still
better than before though....hang in there!

I AM AMAZED THAT SOMETIMES I JUST DON'T    C R A V E     CERTAIN FOODS ANYMORE.   NOT EVERYDAY THOUGH. THERE ARE SOME TIMES DURING THE DAY I THINK IM BACK TO MY OWN RAVAGED SELF.
I DONT GET HUNGRY OR THINK OF FOOD IN THE AM EVEN THOUGH
I DIDNT TAKE THE PILL YET...SOMETIMES I WAIT TILL 1PM
AND DONT EAT UNTIL AFTERWARDS.   ALL IN ALL IN AM AMAZED
AT MY FEELINGS OR NOT     TOWARDS FOOD.
I SOMETIMES EVEN FEEL NORMAL    HA
SOMETIMES WHEN I DO EAT A WHOLE FULL MEAL LIKE OTHERS I DO
FEEL EXTRA FULL AND SAY TO MYSELF    I DONT WANT TO DO
THAT AGAIN...SOME OF IT IS HABIT I GUESS....ITS ONLY BEEN ABOUT
A MONTH. DO ANY OF YOU FEEL LIKE THIS AT ANYTIME?

Results Over Long Haul

Has ANYONE out there lost a large amount of weight on Acomplia and kept it off? Has anyone reached their goal weight? I keep seeing reports of people losing a bit, stopping the drug and then gaining it all back. I have been on it since Sept. 06. I've lost almost 30 lbs. and have 20 more to go. It is very slow but I have not gained anything back. I have not stopped the drug, either. Nor have I had any overly disturbing side effects. Am I alone out here in this? Am I the only long term user who is succeeding, however slowly?

Acomplia not working???

I bought a 30 day supply of Acomplia/Slimona (green pills in blister pack). And I just can't tell if they are working. I haven't lost any weight and I have been on them for two weeks now, and I don't feel like I'm eating less or that I'm feeling less hungry. What am I doing wrong?

Muscle Pain, anyone?

With regret, I had to stop using Acomplia because of awful muscle and joint pain. This first happened last March when I began taking the drug, and I thought it was related to Lyme Disease. Later, after I ran out of Acompia, I saw this listed in side effects infor for the drug:

"Common side effects, that affect more than 1 per 100 but less than 1 per 10, that have occurred in patients on Acomplia include:

....... muscle cramps or spasm, fatigue, bruising, tendon pain and inflammation (tendonitis), memory loss, back pain (sciatica).....and joint sprain."

So when I got back on Acomplia in September, my muscles felt OK, and I resolved to pay attention to any adverse symptoms developing. Now unfortunately I have been driven off the drug again by pain and have a bunch of pills left over for anyone who wants them. What a shame!

t2 diabetes

I was wondering if anyone else on this forum has t2 diabetes. I am very, very slowly losing weight on the rimonabant and mixing it with a cocktail of drugs for the t2, blood pressure and cholesterol medications.

Just changed form ramipril to losartan because I had a dry cough and numb hand and foot on left side which can be a side effect. Though I worry it is to do with the rimonabant?

Anyone else juggling pills?

I'm taking a pre-employment drug screen and wondering if this would show up? I ordered online and could
honestly say I have a prescription...but also obviously, it's not approved here in the states.

I have been on it for 2 months, with diet and exercise, and have not lost a single ounce. Has it taken this long for anybody else for the drug to start working?

Has anyone tried one of the different Generic Acomplias on the market? They are very reasonably priced and some are made by reputable Pharmaceutical Company's. Whats your feeling on these generics?
