Ok I have been reading these boards for a long time.  I want to know who has been here a long time and how people are doing with acomplia.

I've been on it since last November and have lost 55 pounds, so I'm very happy with it.  Another 15 or so and I'm done with the "dieting" part.

Disappointed it won't be available in us as I'm paying a fortune for it, and I honestly don't know if I'll be able to keep it up for a lifetime.  But, right now, it's working.

HI. I've been "using" since June this year and have shed about 10lbs. Also started visiting this site about then to get support and info.

Slowly but surely weight loss is fine with me (and much better than the steady weight gain I was use to) but I do seem to have more hungry days now... Do you find the hunger comes and goes?

This site has been interesting to read but it seems to be grinding to a halt?? I hope it revs up again!

Take care. Ginger

hi everyone,  my computer crashed so its been awhile since I have read or responded....seems like the setback on Acomplia approval in US may have caused a slowdown in this forum...
I am not taking AComplia right now as I decided to see what my system would do without it and also to help out pocketbook as child is now in college....
So,  I've noticed that I have not gone back to the insane eating habits that I had which drove me to the Acomplia. I don't really have an explanation for that as some people has suggested that you gain the weight back when you stop...Actually I have kept 20 pounds off for the last 6 months....Unfortunately, I haven't lost any weight either.....
I like to keep up with the other benefits of Acomplia by reading this site - seems like the visceral fat is targeted by Acomplia and that's a good thing...so I may go back on it for 6 months to see if it kicks starts again....
If it is a chemical problem in my brain, then it may be that the Acomplia did some correction up there...I will certainly continue to think about it some more......Otherwise, I do feel in good health-much better that a year ago when I started the Acomplia....I took it for about 9 months before I stopped...anyone else stop and start again?
Any suggestions...this forum was a great support to me-I hope others will continue it.

i've lost about 20 pounds in a year but, interestingly, most of it has come off my stomach. four inches from my waist, to be exact and I am a pear, not an apple. So it looks like the reports that Acomplia works on viseral stomach fat may indeed be true. Weight loss for me has been quite slow but that is better than the past, when there was no weight loss at all. I do not binge eat, however. And I do four days of cardio (classes with people a lot younger than me) per week plus cycling. All I can say is that for me, Acomplia works w/o troubling side effects.

I am back where I was about 1 1/2 years ago. Basically I gained back the weight that I lost on Acomplia after discontinuing Acomplia for 1 month.

Hello all,

I have not posted for almost a year.  Thought I would touch back in to see how everyone was progressing.  I started November 2006 with a clinical trial.  I didn't know if I had the placeblo or the real drug, however with symptoms listed on this board I suspect I have the real thing.   I immediately lost 30 pounds in 3 months.  I have been at a stand still since then.  I have not gained the weight back, but I have not lost any more.   I passed up gastric by pass surgery because I was doing so well on the Acomplia. Now I see friends who have had the surgery and they look fantastic where as I look ....just ok....I will admit that in the beginning I was walking 3 miles a day.  I have not been exercising. With the time change it is difficult to start walking.  however I will add walking to my regiment to see if the weight loss picks up again.  Ciao for now.

I have been taking acomplia since last january and think it is wonderful.  i am loosing slowly, but surely and my eating habits have changed dramatically.  today i weighed in at 184, which is my threshold number for being classified obese.  I started about 209 or 210.  I began an exercise program about amonth ago and feel even better (the curves for women).
i am so sorry the legalization is being held up for so long and am considering the generic, but afraid to rock the boat.
happy holidays to everyone!

So is there anyone still here? Haven't been many posts lately. I just started on acomlia a month ago and would love to hear some updates. Before I ordered it I brought the subject on several diet borads I visit. I was just amazed at the bizarre things people will do(put up with orange runs, fast, buy amphetamine type drugs) and take to lose weight and yet they had no interest in something with such good reports from many countries. So I';m going it alone and giving it a shot.

Any update DDH? Did you go back on the acomplia or opt for surgery like your friends. Anyone else still out there?

Been here all along but not many people talking these days. I'm still on acomplia...tried the Indian generic and haven't seen much difference. I lose weight very, very slowly but over two years, have lost about 30 lbs. I have 20 more to go.

I am still here!  Began acomplia january of 2007.  lost 25 lbs and have stayed there for months.  i stop for a few days now and then and my appetite is still decreased over what it used to be.  i am afraid, however, that if i stop taking acomplia that i will gain the weight back.  I am enjoying food more and more and feeling hungry more and more, it is scary for me.
Best wishes to us all,

I've lost 70 lbs (2 years)..it's too bad it's being taken off the market for everyone when it doesn't effect everyone the same way.  Oh well...

I am wondering what all this will do to/for the Indian generic market for Acomplia (Rimonabant). As I understand it, there are two versions of the Indian 'generic,' Slimona and Riomont. These are not really generics but, rather, were reverse engineered.  As best as I can tell from what people say, Riomont works the same as the Sanofi product. Slimona is a green pill, oddly shaped  (somewhat like an uneven hourglass) in blisterpacks. Has anyone had any experience with this? From past experience I do know that Rimonabant takes weeks to be effective so trying it a couple of days is not real test.

I  hadn't seen anything in the news about the recall. What a surprise I got this morning.
I don't come here very often since there is so little activity these days. I hope the Indian pills are still available for though I am losing weight very slowly I notice intense hungers on days I forget the pill.not sure if should all stock up now or just face the inevitable the way it looks.Hopefully they can reformulate Accomplia or one of the other developing pills will get approved soon. This "fat issue" is just a curse for some of us.
