Has ANYONE out there lost a large amount of weight on Acomplia and kept it off? Has anyone reached their goal weight? I keep seeing reports of people losing a bit, stopping the drug and then gaining it all back. I have been on it since Sept. 06. I've lost almost 30 lbs. and have 20 more to go. It is very slow but I have not gained anything back. I have not stopped the drug, either. Nor have I had any overly disturbing side effects. Am I alone out here in this? Am I the only long term user who is succeeding, however slowly?

Sounds like I am in a similar place to you. I started June 07. I have lost around 15 pounds, very slowly, and need another 30 to be concidered a normal weight.

Most of the pills magic has warn off for me. I experience many days of true non-food interest but I think my brain is retraining itself to get around the drug effects?

At the start it was easy to leave/turn down food - now it is not - I am not sure if the pill is having any effect anymore but I am afraid to stop it. I am not losing weight but I am not gaining either, as yet.

My next thought was to look into hypnosis - I need something to get me on track again.

I began January 07 and lost 25 lbs, most all of it in the first 8 - 10 months.  My weight stays pretty much the same, give or take a pound or two, now.  I never was on a diet, because the acomplia just crushed my apetite and the little bit i ate at a meal was low calories anyway.
My apetite is stronger and my enjoyment of food is stronger; both of which i don't like.  nevertheless, i am still in way more control than w/o acomplia.
I wish there were more open communications between other countries and the research being done.  surely the successes and failures are noted somewhere.  for example, how long have individuals been taking this w/o stopping and what are the results.  the fact it is still not legal seems to supress information we need.
I have begun an exercise program to offset the occasional slips.  I have constantly had a problem with hunger/apetite/nervous eating at night though and hope there will come a time a new or improved pill will be out there.  until then, i am okay and will keep on.

I have been using accomplia for 5 mths now. Can't say I have lost a lot of weight, only 5-6 lbs but losing weight has historically been all but impossible for me. However my waist is much smaller which the Drs say is a good thing to aim for health wise.I don't feel anything like the effect from the drug that I did at first but I'm not going to stop taking it. I still think it is helping cont5rol the cravings. I have been walking at least 2-3 miles every day and am now ramping that up to 5 miles or doing some other activity as well as the 2-3 miles walk. I'll let you know how it goes.

for what it's worth, the pill never did affect my appetite. i actually eat more now than before. but it does appear to alter the way (speed or whatever) my body processes food. it's the same 1500 calories a day i've always eaten (perhaps a hundred more now). my big problem is that six weeks ago i had a major crash skiing and injured my back. that means no walking (i've tried), no step class, no road riding (bicycle). about the only thing i can do is a spin class and that is no substitute for the rest. i am truly concerned that this is going to be permanent. yes, i've gone to the doctor and am getting massage therapy which, so far, isn't doing much.

I have read that it alters the way your body stores fat. I haven't lost tons of weight in 5-6mths but I am certainly much thinner.

though i have lost only 25 lbs, a great deal of it has come off my waist and stomach, which wasn't all that huge to begin with. i have a pair of shorts someone gave me. 25 lbs ago i couldn't get them past my knees and today i can wear them comfortably.
